Djiksteel moving on at the end of the season ?

Heard this from a few sauces now, seems to be public knowledge....??

Looks like Ayling could be given a contract...??

Hmm, Ayling or Dijksteel is a difficult one.

Ayling is the better defender, though slower.

Dijksteel is the better attacker, though Ayling does have three assists in three games.

I think I would have it the other way round actually. Ayling is more creative and Dijksteel with that amazing acceleration of his is a bit like a champo Kyle Walker when he's on form.

I like him, but with 7 starts this season and 10 last season, he's clearly yesterdays man. Good pro and solid bottom half champ player, good luck to him, I'm sure there will be 5 or 6 teams in that part of the table looking at him.
Could see him at somewhere like Millwall....

Wilder and Carrick didn't fancy him but did well with Warnock. Woodgate bombed him as well despite been on his famous powerpoint presentation. I think Millwall is a good shout, but it is clear he wont be at Boro next season.

Lacks the requisite concentration skills, or nasty streak to succeed consistently in the top half of the championship. Could play as a wing back in the right team. Or as a full back in a team that dominates the ball.

I like Dijksteel. I don't feel he's a had a run in the team under MC, or a chance to get up to full match sharpness.

However, I assume that is for a reason: there may be something in his game that MC does not fancy, and I am prepared to back his judgement.
IF AD moves on, it's with my best wishes for the future.

I don't mind Djiksteel, he has shown some quality but it definitely comes in patches and I'd say his inconsistent form has been a big issue for him during his time here.

I don't think he has ever really cemented that position as his own and this is his 5th season here, right?

Where has this "Ayling doing well" come from, 1 good game (the last one) in 8 doesn't cut the mustard, we can surely do better than him
I'd fundamentally agree with this. I have been massively underwhelmed by Ayling to be honest and given his age, I would hope we have a replacement RB incoming with hopefully a fit again TS ready to go next season.

If we're stuck with Ayling and Smith next season I'd despair. How on earth can that be the model? Keep Smith and let Dijksteel go by all means but let's show a bit of ambition with a youthful upgrade on Ayling.

Maybe we sign Ayling and loan out smith? And sign a younger right back. Might see Ayling as an upgrade on Smith.

I’d be happy with one or the other but probably not both.

He has been faultless the last 3 games in the new set up. At least admit that. He’s doing really well. I too would like a younger RB signed and to have only one of Smith or Ayling around next season.

I would rather keep Dijksteel than Ayling.
However, I feel we need a new RB. One who can play in a back 4. And unless Bangura proves to be the solution we need a LB still too.
