Djed Spence

100% agree Jones or Forss are both better options at RW, and Smith or Dijksteel are both better options at RB.

@newyddion, genuinely, Giles crosses the ball, it flies through the air, bounces off the turf perfectly, sits up for a half volley...

Hand on heart are you actually saying you'd rather see Spence running on to the ball and taking that shot or Forss?

Or is this thread just a bit of silliness to pass the time until lunch? 😜

8th August @The John Smith's Stadium..

Of the two, even Spence at his best at Forest, I'd still rather have Jones imho better team play, better in last 3rd & at least as good defensively..

Yes he is, we didn’t see it at the end of last season due to personal issues, but when he was firing he was more than a match.
I'm not convinced. Spence and Jones play different positions for a start. Jones looked good as a wing-back under Wilder but he had a full-back behind him so he was really playing as a winger. I would never select Spence as a winger so if you want a full-back then Spence is definitely better and if you want a winger then Jones is definitely better. If you want a wing-back then it's a lot closer but I think Spendce is probably more balanced in being able to do the defending side of things better.

I'm also not sure about Jones in general. He only ever seems to use the side of his foot. His crossing is really poor for a winger so if the cut-back isn't on he doesn't seem that effective. I want to see him put his laces through it sometimes when he's through on goal or whip a cross in. He's obviously very good with the ball at his feet and he makes good passes along the ground. He just struggles if the ball ever needs to be above knee height.

I would take Jones every day though because while they aren't miles apart ability wise but they are in attitude.

Again , people here debating if the opportunity arises if we should bring him back

He has the exact same view as braithwaite , he wouldn’t want to come back . He doesn’t like the club and didn’t enjoy being here .

It’s not a decision that is in the clubs hands

Would rather see Spence grasp the nettle at Spurs and make Levey cough up by hitting those performance clauses.

I think its fair to assume if a manager is saying a player needs to "push himself" then he isnt applying himself day to day, or not quite at the races.

Whether that is in his control you never know, if it is then its bad attitude, but you never know it could be something he needs support from the club to help improve and focus himself etc.

lets just cut the bull here, he's a wrong un, big time charlie who thinks he's better than he is and doesnt need to listen to a manager - we saw it at Boro and its been the same everywhere he's been save for a brief spell at Forest
