Disposing of old programmes and fanzines

I used to buy programmes years ago and have regularly bought FMTTM over the years. Seems I have built up quite a collection over the last 30 years as I've never thrown any out, but am now sorting things in the house to clear space. For other items I've been moving to digital platforms to remove CDs, books, books, DVDs etc. from being stockpiled, but am stuck wondering what to do with old programmes/fanzines? I've not got the wherewithal to scan them all to make digital copies but seems a waste to just chuck them all in the recycling bin. Don't know if there's any places that collect them though? It's not a complete collection and they're not all in pristine condition and I haven't even done any kind of 'stock take' yet to be able to say what exactly I've got but there's so many I have to do something as just not got the desire to have them stuffed away collecting dust and eating into storage space any more.

Has anyone faced similar before and got any suggestions?

Hi gadgie, do FAO @Slipperutb01, he is after programmes for his sons collection

Have you got any Boro match newspaper reports, or match tickets?

I’ve got a massive box under my bed full of fmttm’s.
Mostly from the Robbo/mcclaren years. Must be a few hundred.
Never read any of them more than once!

Some of them could be valuable to fans of other clubs. My father in law has accrued a huge collection of Leeds programmes from over the decades, home and away. Some of our home programmes would feature in title winning seasons for other teams.

Quite a niche market on eBay for collections like that, from what he tells me. He stalked an away leg programme from Hungary with patience I would never have.

We are hoping to organise an event at Base Camp on a match day next year - a swap shop and donation box etc. We already have a big programme collection there and this could be an event where people could bring in their unwanted stock and others could search through for issues missing from their collections etc.

That sounds like something that would be perfect for me. Whilst I don't live locally I could make it I'm sure and would be better than just binning things. I'm not looking for any money for anything, just need to dispose of them and would rather it's to someone or somewhere that may want them, rather than to the bin.
