Discriminatory chanting

Hi Rob.

Im thinking of something much more immediate and much closer to home.
Something which connects to the control room and Senior Stewards around the ground.

Just saw this on the matchday information on Boro site. Save the number in your phone in case required. ( not that I can ever get a signal)

There will also be serious consequences for use of illegal drugs, foul or discriminatory language and other abusive behaviour at the Riverside Stadium.
Fans are encouraged to report any discriminatory behaviour they may hear at the Riverside. Fans can send a text message to 07340 718965, giving full details of the incident and which stand, row and seat it took place if possible.
The text will be sent to the matchday safety team who will investigate via steward intervention as well as direct or remote observation.

I was talking to my mate who is a west Ham fan about this and how I always felt a bit cringey. He said he remembers coming up to Boro in the early 90s and how the Boro chant then was about a town full of something else, not homophobic but very racist. I was embarrassed as I seem to recall that in the Ayresome days

"We hate the French" was a song i remember from the Arsene Wenger Arsenal days.

Wasn't long ago someone was tearing up a Koran at a match.

I just don't think the hate is necessary, but it is very ingrained in a lot of people.
