Discovering old albums

Vinyl is the only collectible that there is a market for recently (or was, before lockdown).

Get to know Discogs and be surprised at what some LPs are fetching. The key is the serial number on the label and sleeve. Some titles have many releases and to identify you have to read the numbers scratched into the run-off.

I'm always looking for "Porky Prime Cuts" 👀👍

One of my favourite live albums, and recorded by Rick Rubin, who went on to have an interesting career.

Saw UFO at Middlesbrough Town Hall numerous times and MSG at Newcastle touring their first album. It's actually Simon Phillips' drumming that still knocks me over on that album.

UFO and Schenker have been worth seeing on recent tours as well. The last Schenker tour especially where he had all his previous singers performing was brilliant (y)

Been collecting a lot of old vinyl records recently. Latest additions were Travelling Wilbury's Vol 1 and Innversions by Stevie Wonder.

Disappointed I couldn't do UFO, which will be their last tour due to the death of Pete Way, but I'll keep my eyes open for a Schenker return.

My musical tastes , whilst quite diverse in my eyes, will appear very mainstream to many on here judging by the array of "new" groups and tracks that many on here post.
I tend to stick more to my northern soul and mod collections but I did dig this album out the other day and was pleased I did, some smashing tracks on it

That's a cracker Mr 74. I haven't heard it in a long time, but it was certainly a valuable companion growing up.

Roofie, the Red Noise album will probably be released this year in a remastered package. This follows on from all of the Be Bop Deluxe reissues over the last couple of years. Looking forward to it.
Ive got the Red Noise Album from the day it came out on coloured vinyl. Its in good nick. I`ve got all the singles too - in coloured vinyl. Unfortunately my Bepop Delux albums were "lent" to people over the years and never returned! [I lend nothing out now!].
Do you remember Bill Nelson on T.F.I. Friday from Newcastle? It must have been early 80s.

I found an original of Drift Away in a second hand shop in Nottingham
Dobbie Grey.jpeg and an original copy of Keep On Keeping On by Nolan Porter.

I nearly fell over!
This is my favourite Northern Soul track - to start the night off!
