Welcome to Discover Middlesbrough 2021 starting soon on Friday 15th October and running for a fortnight. After a year away we are back with real events. Walks, talks, open days, exhibitions and shows. Historical, cultural. For the family, for the enthusiast. Re-discover Middlesbrough.
We have a packed program this year with returning favourites from our regular partners and several new things we hope you will enjoy coming along to.

A few things I’m personally looking forward to include the Middlesbrough Town Hall talks on the 30th October, They Did Their Duty a talk about the Teesside men at Trafalgar delivered by Discover Middlesbrough favourite Martin Peagam and a new Memories of Middlesbrough in the 1970s and 80s talk delivered by local historian Tosh Warwick.

Earlier in the festival you can enjoy a cream tea at Newham Grange Farm, the latest Mela children's book launch at the Dorman Museum and Dino Day at Teessaurus Park.

This festival we are featuring a special trail where you can wander through Middlesbrough and discover the poems and artwork from John Powls book North Sea To The East in shops, galleries and venues, The Art House, The Masham, Pineapple Black, The Masham, MIMA, Heritage Gallery and Base Camp.

A couple of our featured walks are being made available on www.myhuntee.com - where there are lots of interactive trails in Middlesbrough and beyond that you can follow at your leisure.

We do love to see and hear about your experiences of the festival so don’t forget to use #discombro2021 or tag us in your social media posts.

We kick off tomorrow with the story of an epic expedition - Force Atlantic - The Talisker Whiskey Challenge Story with Chris Hames - at Captain Cook Birthplace Museum in Marton - at 1pm. £2 in pay on the door. But you will likely get a cup of tea.

Here is what's on over the next fortnight at a glance
