Discourage

@Artie Fufkin - don't worry mate - it's happened to me loads of times - although annoying at first when you come to the 'darkside' and a 'naughty boy' of FMTTM, being banned for a week or so, gives you time to cool down (if you've done something wrong)

Me and Rob have our disagreements sometimes - but deep down we love each other and are Boro Brothers (y)

Don’t leave because of 1 person Artie.
I don’t use the ignore button. Id hazard a guess who is top of the ignore table though.

Are you sure it's the 'naughty step'? I had an issue with this site yesterday when on my phone using 4G, wasn't loading at all but everything else was. Connected to WIFI and it loaded straight away... was weird.

Artie managed to post twice in 14 minutes. When I was on the naughty step I managed 2 posts in 14 hours 🤣
And I think that both of those posts were replies to messages that I'd sent to you. This is all a bit silly. How many times do you and I disagree on here? I don't take it personally and I have no problem with you at all. Quite the opposite in fact. I think that you're one of the best posters on here and I tried to persuade you not to stop posting when you were thinking of leaving. Why do people take this place so seriously? I can have a big argument with one of my mates and then it's all forgotten about when we go out for a pint the next week. People are going to have different opinions on a message board. Wouldn't be much to talk about if we all agreed on everything.

Come on, can't you see this person is being provocative just for the sake it, much to the detriment of this board?
I didn't have anything to do with this - but I can plainly see several instances where one poster has called out another who doesn't appear to be involved in the thread. As Artie says we go back a long way on different message boards and have sparred many times before.
I think maybe it is time for people to stop having a go at each other - that would be the best solution. It is a very easy solution and then we can all move on.
How about it?

I agree with your sentiment but it's like herding cats Rob

Who'd want to be an administrator on here? It seems that some posters are continually looking to start trouble. Don't go, Artie, give the ignore button a try.

Personally I think if you get upset at what some nameless idiot says about or to you on t'internet then it really isn't the place you should be as there's so many fooookin kock wombles out there that it's inevitable one will troll you at some stage.
And getting all upset just gives them the toxic food they require.
As a great man once sorta sang: ''ignore it and it will go away, don't you listen."

If admin perceive an infraction has taken place, why can’t they highlight the problem and take official documented action e.g. “you’ve broken this rule and the consequence is a 1 week ban” or “you’ve broken this rule and this is a warning to kindly not repeat it”?
The “naughty step” seems to be applied and removed inconsistently and without notification. I think posters deserve a bit of clarification. I concede that administrating a message board isn’t easy but if admin are making a revenue stream then they have a responsibility to act in a competent and consistent manner.
