Dirty Leeds

For all the arselicking over Leeds, they've only got 3 more points than we'd managed at the same stage in our last PL season.

The main difference is that the teams in the relegation zone are far further adrift this time, so I expect Leeds will stay up comfortably.

Leeds miss too many chances and are rubbish at the back. Add to that the high tempo game they play, I would predict they will find themselves in trouble this season.

Anyone know what the crack is with Pablo Hernandez?
On Leeds forum they were shouting for him to come on - some fall out with Bielsa?

To be fair, given a terrible boro footballing period, I get my kicks out of geordies, sunland, leeds failing.
Sunderland are the goods guys in all of this - never fail to disappoint :poop:

The media Bielsa w*nkfest is still failing to mention that they can't defend. Also the manager is very stubborn in that he won't change the style no matter what.

That's fine when it's pretty football but they are so exposed at the back. You also expect a burnout post Xmas. It happens with every Bielsa side and the lockdown was probably a blessing last year.

I put £20 on at 20/1 for them to go down 2 weeks ago. So cheering everyone who plays them😉 (although it's clear Sheff UTD / Fulham and West Brom ain't helping my cause)

You could say the same of any recent boro manager in respect of wont change their way.

I do home they implode very soon though.

Bielsa's teams are generally set up to dominate opponents. Despite some early success it appears they don't have the quality to do this week in week out in the premier League. I actually think their recruitment has been little questionable but expect them to grow the team if/when they are established in the league.

As above I think they'll have enough to stay up but will probably need to spend big to remain competitive for next season.

True

It's maybe just my undying hatred of all things Leeds that clouds my judgment. Don't get me wrong they are 'easy on the eye' and play in a way most fans would love to see.

I just think the media hype is massively over the top. They had conceded as many as West Brom two weeks ago. Even I can see they need to tighten up.

I laughed when they played Man City and all the 'master v apprentice' build up. Pep had to be the master? He's won everything and Bielsa has won the championship.

I just don't like them😂

I have not looked at the stats but in the commentry last night Beglin mentioned that Leeds have the worst conversion rate in the premier league. He mentioned in the last 2 games 42 shots and 1 goal, i think. There defence is worse than Boro's when Robbo was in charge.

That is shoking. If you add a poor conversion rate to a rubbish defence you get relegated.

I thought Bielsa looked depressed on his interview and didn’t say much either.

It‘s hard in the prem once the opposition know how to play against you and exploit your weaknesses.

Bielsa looks to me to be a good tactician so he’s probably exhausted all options on that front and maybe his squad just isn’t up to it.

Its a shame for all the Leeds fans but a long hard winter lies ahead for them.
