With the rumours of an old face (foreign former player from Robson era if rumour to be believed) returning to the club in a DoF role with a head coach (not a manager) working below him in a new (another!) long term plan, who do you think it may be?

TLF?
Marco Branca?
Uncle Festa?
Chris Karembeu?

(I would’ve thought if we end that route then a DoF appointment would’ve more likely been a Steve Round or McLaren type but as the rumour seems to rule them out…)

Any thoughts?
 
Branca was sporting director at Inter for a decade whilst they win the champions league. Would be a coup (again)

didn’t he leave under a cloud? Disputed medical reports?

Out of that list Branca is the one with the right experience in a similar role at Inter. Not sure if Boro could attract him or if there's bad blood as if I remember he took the club to court after his contract got terminated ?

It may be, but as it’s a football discussion forum dealing largely in rumours etc I thought I’d ask the question……🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah I know, I was just asking if there was any truth in it, as seems to be a just that, all speculation and rumours.

If there is anything in it, I can’t see it being a foreigner. Get the impression that Gibson feels he had fingers burnt with Karanka, Orta and co.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Robson or McClaren back in some capacity.

Yeah, I’d have thought it more likely to be a British rather foreign appointment too to be honest which is why I thought it made for a discussion topic. Could all be bolllox though as said so…..

Robbo’s got a cushy life as an ambassador and doing PR for Man Utd hasn’t he ? Can’t see that.
 
I’ve always had it in my head that Robson as some kind of ambassador role might help especially in the prem trying to draw players in . I remember TLF say people in Brazil listen when Robson speaks .
I thought he had some role at manu now
 
McClaren is currently technical director at Derby. Can’t see him being there for much longer given their current predicament. He still lives in Yarm too. Just saying 👀

So Warnock goes at the end of the season and gets replaced by a McClaren / Rooney dream team 😳😳😳😳😳
 
It will be one of them situations where people will have to muck in . 3rd division beckons . They be sold for a pound plus debt
