I guess playing under Warnock has to help. He seems the type to give you confidence and structure (actually knowing role and responsibilities).

Probably did but woodgate couldn’t improve a player or get a team to get together. Which is the major part of his job....

Was very impressed with Dijksteel yesterday, looked calm under pressure and brought the ball out well from the back.

With him on one side and McNair on the other it almost looked like a "Sheff Utd" lite approach (the false five). At times in possession they both pushed forward which pinned Bournemouth into their half and allowed us to dominate possession in dangerous areas.

Spence however has gone backwards. I think mainly because he doesn't know when to release the ball. He often hangs onto it too long or doesn't see an obvious pass. Tav is guilty of that as well.

Seems that Spence is no longer prepared to take defenders on. His decision or has it been coached out of him?

I think he’s more aware of his defensive duties
