Former Nice coach Didier Digard strongly expected to take over from Senegalese Habib Beye at the helm of Red Star.

Glass-kneed nonentity
Played over 130 times for Nice in Ligue 1 after leaving us and captained them. Injured by that oaf Cattermole in a "challenge" that was tantamount to assault rupturing the medial ligaments in his right knee as well as a rupture to the quadriceps muscle in his left leg. Discarded by Strachan as not good enough, replaced by some proper nonentities from Scottish football, none of yerr forrin nonentities ferr wee Gordy.

Pretty much what he said. 👍🏼

It just didn’t work out for him here unfortunately

Yeah, who funnily enough was a direct rival of his for a place in the team. Glad he had a some sort of decent career afterwards. Sure he probably thinks the money he picked up over here wasn't worth it for the bad luck to run across Clattermole though.

I really liked the look of Digard when he first came. Strong, physical. Good ball carrier. Looked like the sort of player who would have been a top Champo midfielder.
It just never happened. Couldn't get fit or string together enough matches to really kick on.

Unfortunate for both us and him I think.

He's was clearly good enough, just not fit enough, often enough, including that awful 'tackle' by Cattermole.
