Didier Digard

I remember being dead excited because he was the 'New Zidane' when we signed him
I vaguely remember being on the concourse just before half time in a pummelling of Yeovil and I missed his goal. Probably the only good thing he did for us!
Hope he does well!

Main thing I remember about him is the Sports Gazette double spread when him and Marvin Emnes signed. Other than a largely uninspiring, injury prone defensive midfielder who happened to be compared to Zizou because he was French and bald.

Good luck to him at Nice, owned by Ineos’ Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the richest man in the UK. Famous faces he’ll be managing include Morgan Schneiderlin, Ross Barkley, Fulham’s Joe Bryan and ex-Boro youth player Bilal Brahimi.

Also in the Nice side is Kasper Schmeichel, who was an unused sub at the Riverside on October 29th 2008, when Boro beat Man City 2-0, with Digard playing 76 minutes, and Aaron Ramsey, who was an unused sub at the Riverside on December 13th 2008, when Digard played 91 minutes in a 1-1 draw with Arsenal. Scary.

Think he could have formed a decent partnership alongside Rochemback (when fit).

He looked good when he played alongside Arca in midfield but of course they were rarely both fit at the same time.

Blimey, Aaron Ramsey will have seen his only decent game for us.

I think Rochemback left before Digard joined though.

The "new Zidane" had more to do with his hair than his ability.
