Did Bolo enjoy playing for Sunderland?

We'll always have Cardiff and the great European adventures.
We can only dine out on that for so long I reckon. Otherwise we'll be falling into the trap of gloating about old achievements, like Sunderland and Newcastle fans.
What do you think? Another 10yrs before it's too old?

Reaching a UEFA Cup final is something we should dine out on for another few decades imo ;). Its a feat only a very few English clubs of our stature have ever managed. In fact between the UEFA Cup/Europa League and the European Cup/Champions League there's been 120 finals played in total, and only 12 English clubs have reached one of those major European finals. We're one of them.

I love that fact.
But tbh find it hard to get past the 4-0.
I haven't even watched the highlights since, which says a lot.

I'd say it's too old now, personally, as brilliant as it was.

17 years ago, and we didn't actually win it.

We're not even the last middling English club to reach that final.

At the end of the day, it's something we have over them.

That will change if they win something one day but until they do we can remind them of it every time they belittle us, and they claim that we're jealous of them because of their history.

What do we have over them?
Reaching a European cup final and seeing our team win a cup (something many of them haven't experienced).

They like to believe that we're jealous of them because of their attendances and their history, which is impressive, but how many of them will have been alive to witness the fa cup win, and winning the old first division.

Yep, and I seem to remember they played him at LW and LB at times....when he was much more effective and played his best football for us in the middle of the park.

I wonder if he has any regrets at leaving. Obviously we couldn't compete with Liverpool financially, and he actually won the Super Cup with Liverpool in his first season, but from a game time POV he didn't really break into the Liverpool team.
I imagine he rings Christian Ziege regularly so they can discuss where it all went wrong.
