Did anyone else get in today without showing their season card?

I was in a big queue outside the SW corner turnstiles about 2.50. It eventually started to go down and when I got to the turnstile the steward just said…Get in. The turnstile was spinning like a good un’. Shambles.

I used my digital ticket to get in and my season card for my free drink.
You can’t even make it up….
Girl at till, “sorry we don’t take phones for drinks”
Supervisor, “we are not set up to take digital tickets for drinks yet”
Good job they sent me a new season card last Friday, perhaps they foresaw this shambles coming; and I thought that they had only sent me a new card because they thought I was too old for new technology! 🤣

ffs!

Take your own 4-pack in under ya jacket.
What a balls up.

Instead of joining that shambles of a queue at the SW corner, I had a pint at the fanzone and went in the West stand upper turnstile (chanced my ticket working and it did).

Why the Stewards didn’t direct some of that queue to the WS turnstiles I will never know.
Absolute shambles.

Same with me!

What do you think was going wrong at that block in particular - it was so much worse than the rest of the stadium from what I could see. The queue just suddenly built up didn't almost back to where I sell fanzines.
Was it lots of people trying to insert season cards or lots of digital people getting confused? Or were the turnstiles there not working properly etc?

Probably all sorts. At the NW the stewards started sending the corner ticket holders to the WS Upper turnstiles as they were quieter. Seemed to get bodies moving. Nobody told those stewards at the SW to do the same

My mate bought both our tickets and didn’t print them we just had them on our phones - I asked the steward as we were going in (West Stand) if there would be a problem scanning phones - he said you can’t you need a paper ticket - anyway both our phones scanned in ok. Clueless.
Also, worth a mention, impossible to get a drink at half time due to a massive queue which hardly moved in 15mins, it was same back end of last season. So slow and man did I need a drink….

Basically rob no organisation or structure look at my pick where is the queue there is was just a mob

Surely they can have some sort of barrier to mark each entrance so a queue can form into.

Instead you had the farcical scenario where people were choosing which entrance to walk towards once they got nearer to it meaning the queue didn’t really move.

Oh and one stewards for the north stand is a joke.

It very nearly kicked off as tempers were getting raised.IMG_8772.jpeg

I think it was a wise decision to get to the stadium early. I would thought most people would have be there before 2.30pm - it was clear there would be difficulties, because of a 29k plus crowd and new systems. Any fans who used this board was well warned.

A lot of paper match tickets were issued for the NW corner and they seemed to go through quickly, sometimes fans were struggling to find their seats because they were not regulars. I didn't see many using digital.

It sounds like a lot of problems were high number turning up together as much as new season ticket cards.

You didn’t need to touch your card either, the turnstile was put on freewheel and the steward just told you to enter, to be fair ,for once somebody used their head and allowed people to use the turnstiles in the West Stand.

A separate issue, but I booked two tickets for the Hardwick Bar to meet with two friends who booked their tickets separately.

None of our 4 tickets would scan on entry, but with a queue building, the doorman just waved us through. However, when we got to our seats, all four were occupied by people who had exactly the same tickets as us.
