Just finished this 3rd season of the Deutschland series on Ch4, totally brilliant how they've captured the zeitgeist of that period and how it swings from dark to funny

Next on the list. I was in Berlin / East Germany in 1989. What a sad country East Germany was compared with other Eastern bloc countries I went to. I was there as the wall went down, one of my most memorable times.

Edit - I’ve just realised there was a follow up in 86 and 89, I only watched 83 when it was broadcast on TV. I’m over the moon with that

It was as the wall had represented everything that divided East from Western Europe.
