Funnily enough - and without reading this thread over the last month I have watched both the Detectorists and Early Doors for the first time!

Loved the Detectorists, such a gently witty, clever and chilled show - genuinely enjoyed it from start to finish.

I thought Early Doors was awful though! I cringed from start to finish - but I found it so bad it had me going back for more!

I just never fancied the Detectorists and the wife asked me to put it on last week. We have just finished watching series 2 and will complete series 3 over the next week.

I can't believe how easygoing this is but leaves you craving to watch the next episode. I just wish I had started watching this sooner and as BevleyRed said in his post, the lemonade scenes are quality and the one in Terry's living room brought tears to my eyes.

Are any of the board members detectorists? A couple of the caretakers at LJS went out regularly and found vintage coins but nothing to write home about or nothing they were willing to tell me about.

Bought my son a metal detector a couple of years ago and we’ve taken it to the beach and some random places a few times. We’ve never found anything all that interesting just the odd bit of scrap but it’s good fun. We keep saying we should join a local club and go on some more organised digs but never really got round to it.
