Desperate for a ball winning midfielder

Howson has been great for us but he's either unfit or his legs are finally on the wane

Not a single player in that squad capable of playing the same role

And when i say ball winner i'm not talking about slow plodders like Mowat and Forshaw, neither of whom are even close to the type of player i am talking about

Isaac Hayden looks a good call, i think we will sign him

I agree with the signing a ball winning midfielder bit - we've been desperate for one for a long time - but not sure about Hayden due to his injury history.

Surely our recruitment team can identify one fecking midfielder of this type in world football.

This has been posted most of the Summer by me and a couple of others- I think Barlaser was bought to replace Howson, but it looks like he's not ready or not good enough, which leaves us with a problem as Payero can't do that job.

If we play 4 at the back our full backs need extra cover if they push forward or they stay back. The two centre halves are not Mogga/Pally so they can't cover.

We let in 4 goals today and WBA only had 7 chances according to BBC stats - that's crazy. We've got to make it harder for the opposition to score against.

That's the problem though. At this level, there are very few players who can put in a tackle and play good football. You're usually stuck with players who can only do one or the other, unless you're willing to spend big.

Been overlooked for far too long, signs were there last season but we were banging in 3 goals a game so it was glossed over.

Lacking some leaders in there too, Jonny howson is as quiet as a field mouse when he’s meant to be the captain ffs
