Derby County fans are disappointed that Nottingham Forest could reignite their season after choosing to relieve Chris Hughton of his duties at the City Ground.

The Reds are on the search for a new manager, having suffered an awful few weeks in the league; it is their worst start to a season for more than a century.

Forest find themselves rock bottom of the Championship, losing six of their seven league matches this season.

Their only point of the campaign came in a 1-1 draw with the Rams before the international break.

A number of names have already been linked with possible appointments at the City Ground, including Chris Wilder, John Terry and Steve Cooper.

Rams fans have enjoyed the sight of Forest struggles this season. Derby fans have reacted to the news from Forest; here's what some had to say...

@brazzer1970: Incredible to think If we beat Stoke on Saturday then take a 9pt deduction we will still be above Forest on goal difference

@LionelGalant: Any decent manager would be crazy to take the Forest job under the current regime. I’d say exactly the same for us if we needed a new manager. Mad the state both clubs are in

@waftykrankers: A 6 point deduction and #dcfc still being ahead of Forest on goal difference would be the most Derby thing ever

@fans_county: Aww what a shame. Gutted for the man. Needed more time.

@RamsFanatic1884: That isn't good news. He was taking them down, Forest aren't as bad as Hughton was making them look, a new face with attacking ideas and they will climb the table. I cant lie, I'm gutted they sacked him

@raking5: Gutted. Thought he was doing a brilliant job at Notts Forest
