Dental Prices - what is the going rate?

Vitality in Northallerton is £60 for check up (max 10 mins) and £60 for hygienist (about 20 mins).
Not bad the pleasure of an X-ray

Cheers contributers,

I guessed what I paid was very expensive and based on some of your replies I was right.

£172 (about 40% of the price a Boro season ticket)

I know they have nice facilities, but the price I paid is miles higher than £25.80!

I could not believe that.

Doesn’t seem that pricey. I pay £120 without the X-rays. I don’t think you can compare with NHS dentists.

BT - are you saying what you get for your money is much more, privately?

I am shocked a dental practice can survive earning only around £60/hour - when you consider the overheads (equipment, service staff, rent, business rates, energy, water, phones, insurances etc).

My window cleaner charges £10 for around 15 minutes work and he has practically no overheads - £40/hour

£29 mth for 2 checkups, 2 hygienist apps and an annual xray p.a. Includes all work apart from teeth whitening and other cosmetic treatments.
