Been working with MFC Foundation to make Friday mornings Dementia Friendly at Boro Shirt Museum.
All you need to do as a carer, relative or friend of someone with dementia is scan the QR code and contact Neil at MFC Foundation to arrange to be part of a dementia tour of the exhibition at the Dorman Museum.

I was in there today and can see how it would be great for any boro fans suffering with dementia.
The whole display is absolutely brilliant, and I would advise anyone who hasn't had the chance to go, to try and get there before it finishes.

Ah bloody hell, what a coincidence. I'm taking my mam tomorrow who has just come out of hospital after being diagnosed with a similar condition but classed as parkinsons (psp).

Taking her as her long term memory is OK and should stimulate her brain a bit. I'll play that game where you see a shirt and name the player that comes to mind. She will probably say Craig Hignett for all of them.

Boro Shirt Museum tested it out during the exhibition build taking on advice and then once opened invited in a group with carers to make sure it all worked well for people.
MFC Foundation won a national award for their work with dementia. They host regular dementia dances at the Riverside as well as visits into care homes.

We are hoping this will be a welcomed oopportunity for families caring for dementia to make a visit under the expert supervision of MFC Foundation.

Boro Shirt Museum is open 10-4pm Tuesday to Friday - normally for £3.50 outside of Dementia Friday.

My Boro My Shirt fan portrait exhibition is on display in the adjoiniing Dresser Gallery and is free of charge. The 15 fan portraits are a celebration of diversity and inclusion.. The message is to anyone young, older, or from any background that you are welcome to join our Boro gang.

I should underline again if you are wanting to bring anyone with dementia please scan the QR code and MFC Foundation will be your qualified guides.

Dementia Friendly Friday.
