Well done to those volunteers who were out collecting for Dementia Care in the local area on match day Saturday. I really hope you filled those buckets.
It's a horrible condition and effects a lot of families as well as the individual.

Just a thought: I would have happily contributed, but I hardly ever carry cash these days, just the phone. A handheld NFC device set at £2 or £5 might have helped increase the contributions?

Agreed. I didn't have a bean on me but would have happily contributed with a card. I'm sure it's something being looked at. In London over Xmas most street buskers had a card reader so it will transition to charity collections too, hopefully

Am not sure they would be able to get a card reader for a one off collection. There is a different ascribed to every game. If there is a way of coordinating this with card readers that could be worthwhile.

I always want to donate but never carry any coins.

could MFC keep hold of and supply the card readers, then transfer to the given charity each week?

If it's an established charity, then I wouldn't imagine it's a one off collection. First time at the Riverside maybe, but can't imagine it was their first and only time out

That said, I'm not in favour of having all roads leading to the ground lined with charity collections. I manage to contribute monthly to charities by means of direct debit, I don't need to put cash in every bucket to signal my virtue

The girl I donated to, near the burger van NW corner of the ground was the lady who organised the collection. I always carry a few quid for the 1/2 time raffle tickets so I split my tenner between the two.
