A new one for me with regards to on screen graphics (shown during thr U.S.A. v Wales game).

Please tell me this was a one-off mix-up purely for U.S. TV only?(n)

'Transition(s)' is the current buzzword I've noticed. There's a couple of pundits who like to use it a lot. Also, the describing of a players display using the old shirt numbering system is a big one at the moment. As in, "They put in a right number eight's performance today." Getting tedious.

Transition has been around in coaching circles for a long time, 2 or 3 decades.

The other two are americanisations taken from NFL to make it easier to explain to american fans new to the game.
I wonder how they explain hand ball to Quatari thieves.

In the early days of us soccer coverage they used to cut to commercial for every throw in. And show the ads in full for every throw in

Just imagine that.

Yeah but never heard it mentioned by the pundits before, it tends to be the women pundits that mention it I've noticed....
