Death Stranding 2

I am so excited about this. Not watching any of the trailers. Will probably watch the four hour super cut of all of the cutscenes in the first to refresh memory. That opening scene where the BTs attack the truck is the greatest in video game history. Must have watched it 30 or 40 times.

I played it quite late in the end as it’s included in PS plus subscription. Loved it. Didn’t have a clue wtf was going on for the first part of the game.

Some of the visuals look amazing on the new game. Really looking forward to the release.

I was going to play the first one and then decided it might be a bit boring. Have I got that badly wrong?

Same. It's described as a walking simulator isn't it?

My impression was it's quite a slow game, requiring quite a bit of patience.

Doesn't mean its bad obviously, but didn't really appeal to me. Although I am tempted.

This new one does look stunning.

Initially, it can be a bit slow but once you build networks and get vehicles etc. (which isn’t that far into the game) then you get places much quicker.

I thought the storyline was a really interesting concept.

I had similar thoughts as both of you when it came out which is why I didn’t buy it. Thought I’d give it a go since it was on PS Plus and must admit, I really enjoyed it.

I don`t think there is a right answer to that question because everyone has a different opinion of the game and by the sounds of it, it will be different to what you have already played

It`s -
£17.41 on Steam at the moment

You can access for free via PS Plus (I think), otherwise for the Directors Cut it`s £45 or £21 via CD Keys

If I had a PC I would dip my toe in for a couple of hours and then if it`s not for you get a refund (you can play up to 3 hours IIRC)
If I had PS Plus I would deffo give it a go, but if not I wouldn`t pay £45 for it

I won`t recommend CD Keys because it`s up to the individual how they spend their hard earned and going through a 3rd party website isn`t to everyones liking, but it is there for you to purchase if that is the route you wish to take, but there is no refund for either PC or PS versions if you don`t like the game

You have to deliver stuff from place to place. The more you deliver the more reward you get but the harder it is to carry.
There are people who try to nick your stuff who you can run away or hide from. Or throw your poo at them.
There are also invisible things called BTs that you have to avoid.
As the game goes on you get all sorts of tools to make travelling easier. You build bridges and roads. Stuff other people make shows up in your game.

The story is about extinction and connection. It's a parable about the internet with a bit of a thing about fatherhood alongside. Being kojima it's mad as ****. Really leans into that eerie Japanese horror vibe whilst also being strangely relaxing.
