Dear me.. single bedroom rentals!!!

Things have gone south for me lately to the point now I am needing to rent a room or a single bed "flat" "apartment", whatever. How on earth can they charge £500+ plus for a small room or single bedroom place? I'll be paying more for rent that I currently do for a 4 bed mortgage.

No wonder people cannot save for a deposit for a mortgage now! I am literally in shock. bonkers!
 
The housing market is just ridiculous at the moment.

A 4 bed detached house on our road in IB has just been let for £1,500 per month and it was only on the market for 1 day!

Best of luck though mate.

I would never qualify for anything the council would offer me. I am on a tight budget as I need to keep my both places going. Long story but I have made some dreadful decisions over the the last 2 years, my head hasn't been my own and will not make my wife suffer more by giving her yet another headache of paying for our current house.

I did that recently.. but I need somewhere to do my day job. However I do agree it is a cracking option. It is amazing how many places globally you can live for nothing if you are willing to do a good days work!

I met a few people who have been all over and they just enjoy life. I was tempted to go Bothy hop but I need decent broadband to work :D

Yeah I'm sure I read someone on here was living in a Buddist Monastry about 3 weeks ago with free board and lodge. One way of escaping the neighbours I guess...
