Deal done

Proud to announce I've heroically agreed pretty much the same trade deal Theresa May agreed in 2019 which prompted me to resign from the shadow cabinet in disgust & have a temper tantrum for 18 months. I can confirm that same trade deal is utterly brilliant now because I did it!

Currency?

We have only just started.
Government paper said Brexit will lead to circa 4.1% decline in GDP (worse than Covid).
I’ve no idea what will happen to currency but the fat lady is only just warming her vocal chords.

Personal preference - I’d like it to decline. Selling a house in France at the moment
In the same position. I'll be selling a house in the US soon.

“Another nine lorry parks, known as "customs clearance centres", have been built in Kent and across the country to handle imports away from congested ports that lack the infrastructure to manage the new regime.”

Still. Blue passports eh?

So Starmer abstains when the government don’t have the numbers to win, and votes with them when they have the numbers to win without him.

Utterly useless.

Sturmer is a good imperialist in public and a controling Stalinist in the Labour Party.
He spent Wednesday in Scotland making a speech, declaring Nationalists to be "separatists" and not a part of the future of "The Union".
Someone forgot to tell him that Labour is a burned candle in Scotland.....and so is he.

When Boris said his deal was 'oven ready' I didn't realise that he still had to find a recipe and buy all the ingredients.

Oh, and work out how to use the oven.

Silly me.
Boris still has his hand up the Turkey`s arz trying to find the stuffing!

Nice to see the leftys taking consolation when it comes to selling their second/third houses. And foreign pensions

I can only conclude by the lack of outrage from those that have been outraged on both sides that the deal looks acceptable by all.

As a Remainer I’m pleased it’s over myself, the 17 million have basically got what they voted for, time to look to the future.

Also very good for Labour that it’s done, the Brexit thing was always a Tory indulgence. They managed to hang it out for a few years and Johnson got 5 years on the back of something he knew Labour weren‘t really bothered about.

Be interesting to see what happens next election, I think the Tories will try, but struggle, to bring it back to life in some way whilst Starmer will concentrate on the domestic agenda and making sure people have food.
