Given it is a must win match and if Lumley's passing is better then it makes sense to play him. Someone has to score some goals so anything that helps that is worth doing.

Lumleys passing is better . Not sure if you have seen him play, but he can't kick a football.

It's championship football, I get your point on cohesion but generally the best players are the best team at this level. It's clear that Connoly is both poor individually and has a negative effect on the surrounding players.
