Tomorrow will probably be the first time he lines up against us.
Was a fantastic player for us over the years who somewhat tarnished his legacy by refusing to play during the extended season due to Covid, really left us in the Sh*t.

If that would never have happened I think you'd have to consider him in the same thoughts of George Friend, Adomah, Leadbitter, Clayton. Icons for this club..

But to me he just feels like another ex player because of it.
Not to mention his wife banged on about how wronged he was and truth would come out...still waiting on truth.

Forss should just run him all over and ensure who ever is in the box against him at corners, offensively tries to win a pen (easy to do) defensively mark him very tightly.

Nailed on to score tomorrow. Boro to win 2-1 Chubbbaa with a brace, Ayala with a consolation

Pretty sure he played against us at the riverside last season.

I don't really recall him getting much reaction at all.

"The truth will out" became a stock means of refusing to admit you were wrong for a period of time, coming from everyone from Mrs Ayala up to Qanon. Just stick it out there and hope everyone forgets.

I really liked Ayala, sure had had some games that he was off but i mostly rated him. I just lost respect for him when he refused to play for us back when football had restarted. If he had stuck it out i’m sure a lot of the fanbase would have respected him like George Friend.

He was very good for 1/2 seasons but how much of that was down to Karanka plus being in a brilliant defence. The rest of the time he was bang average. Conveniently injured for large parts of the season and left thinking he would get a premier league contract only to end up at Blackburn.

Hope he gets the reaction he deserves tomorrow, although I would be surprised if he plays. Isn’t this the time of year he usually took a few months off?

I don't remember him playing in that game! Can't of done much

Usually loves January off doesn't he!

Daniel Ayala was the glue of our team for two years.

He should have a statute built.

He cost absolute peanuts and signed a contract extension when on a free turning down mega money deals, from Newcastle and from a few big clubs in Turkey.

Maybe of his ankle to put in the treatment room after Christmas.

He'll be due his ankle injury after tonight. He should post his new year status now
'Can't believe my luck in January, 8th Ankle injury in a row in January, will be back doctor says March. Happy New year, I'm off to Spain'

It’s funny reading these comments, some seem to think Ayala looked good because he was in a good defence. We’ll see posts about how poor Gibbo were and Dimi. Friend is always defended even though towards the end his legs had gone.

simply put Ayala was a great player for us. Like most footballers, he looked after number 1 And made a decision based on advice given to him etc.

He was a great player for us HOWEVER when we were deep in the clarts he bailed out on us.👎

Yeah he played 90 mins at the Riverside last season.

Technically he also played against us for Derby when on loan from Liverpool in 2011 too haha.

Think he expected a big move to a big club after turning down our offer. Never materialised so he ended up at Blackburn (no disrespect to them). Was disappointed he left, but don't know how much we've missed him 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
That defence was a solid UNIT, each player knew exactly what their job was and carried it out very well. Dimi behind them, Grant and Clayton in front ......one of the best I've seen at Boro. Individually were they that great? Moving on from Boro stats say probably not.
