I think so, they were splashing it about last year in wages, going for it knowing they had saleable assets if they didn't go up. they didn't go up, Armstrong evens the books out

Still waiting for the big "reveal" his missus promised that would explain everything with his contract situation and show him to be hard done by 
I suspect he thought he was worth more than we were willing to offer and the club were reluctant to give him another multi year deal on good money given his injury record.
It's a shame because I think at one point he had a genuine affinity for the club and was heading for minor legend status. But that'll always be tainted now because he refused to play when we looked in real danger of going down. I understand why he did it, it's a risk if you're out of contract and particularly if you're injury prone. But then he presumably could have signed a contract extension to remove that risk. Two sides to every story and all that.
Polite applause at best would seem about right.
