Dan Badpasser

The guy has a habit of losing the ball or misplacing a simple pass when in possession within his own half so I don’t think we can say he is good in possession. Maybe caveat it to say when he is not under pressure which is rarely the case since everyone can see our weakness with playing out from the back.

He needs bombing out, any thought of him having a future at the club after this season will ensure the mediocrity we are currently going through will continue.
 
He always wants the ball but does very little with it. He either passes side to side or yesterday he launched a ball up that was to no one. Terrible

I agree with you. Our movement was very poor yesterday - I think there was one chance we had to split the defence when Barlaser played it through to Forss and slightly overhit it. Apart from that he really didn't get much opportunity to do anything with the ball. He is at his best when being brave and taking the dangerous pass on but yesterday the whole team was weak, timid, and certainly not brave.

He played really well for a spell earlier in the season. Truth is he probably isn't as good as some of the threads around that time or as bad as 'Dan Badpasser', he's somewhere in the middle.

I think the problem we have is the bottom section - I'd imagine all of our midfielders underperform in the tackles/interceptions/blocks area, we are just too weak in midfield. If our attack is blowing away other teams then we can mask that to an extent. But at the moment our attack isn't good enough, certainly at home anyway.
 
I’m watching this rubbish. I honestly don’t like singling out players but in a team that plays out from the back, the holding midfielder; the guy who is being given the ball from the keeper more often than not is an absolute liability.

He has given the ball away at least three times now resulting in absolute clear cut chances for Stoke. Thankfully the rest of his giveaways haven’t been too damaging.

A liability.
 
Being saying it for weeks now
Teams are targeting him when he gets the ball.. he’s an easy touch and very often he get done in a dangerous area.. if I can see it why can’t Carrick ?

It’s not just you mate. There’s 15000 can see it. Same as when he played greenwood upfront for 3 games when it was obvious it wasn’t working, same as why he’s starting Thomas ahead of Engel then subbing him off when we’re behind.
He’s paid to manage and coach, from what we’re seeing in the pitch he isn’t doing either of those particularly well right now

Obviously Howson and Hackney are better players, he's a back up and for that reason he is as the team is, very inconsistent. But criticism of his appearance tonight is nonsense and he must have been full of confidence coming on to a load of boo's.
We won the game because of an idiot getting sent off and Norwich gifting us 3 goals, but it's nice for the shoe to be on the other foot for once.
 
Comes on as part of a 3 man Sub ..
Formation then reverted to 4 2 3 1 ( hardly his , or the teams , strong point )
But because he doesn't become prime Pirlo, he ' was woeful '.
He's a fourth choice CM in this formation.

Failing to find your own players with pass after pass is not playing well.
Keeping possession when needing the 3 points is quite important

He was fine when he came on. He certainly didn’t give the ball away with “pass after pass”

He’s played poorly (as has the team) but singling him out for 20 mins as a sub ? Really?

He was worse than that by all accounts..

I genuinely can't remember him losing the ball tonight?🤷‍♀️
Weird take to single out a player who came on for a twenty minutes after we'd already won the game and it was being played at walking pace.

Engel is the same, look at some of the comments before the equaliser!
