Daft question about England games

Order them here for free -
next day delivery.
Do the test on the day of the game and go online or ring through the results and you will get a reply that can be used as evidence.#
That is how I understand it.

There are also free test centres in most towns. Again you need to do it on day of game.
I think Middlesbrough centres are a bit more fiddly to register etc. I might be wrong.
You can walk into many other centres ie Stockton community centres and just take a test and get a text result.

There is no need to book, you can just turn up and tests are free. However, it is really important that you do not attend one of these sites if you have had a positive test result or are waiting for the results of a test.

Here you can read some ‘Frequently asked questions’ about the tests for people who don’t have COVID-19 symptoms.

OK, so I get a test from the doctors, take it at home on Tuesday morning, hopefully it's negative then ring a number and give my reference number ?? And they send me a text to say I'm OK and show this at the turnstiles??

Just send for some tests or go to a test centre. The test centre will send you a text 30 mins after with your result there is your proof to show at the match. Use a test centre that is for people without symptoms.
Or order the free tests today - they will arrive tomorrow. Seven tests in a box. Do a test on yourself, takes a few minutes. Thirty minutes for result. Ring through your result (or go online). They register the result and send you a response that is proof to take to the game.

So you can do the test yourself at home, then upload the result yourself - then they send you confirmation they've received your result? What's to stop someone from testing positive and just reporting a negative to allow them access to the match?

I just took a Lateral Flow Test at home 30 minutes ago - and on page 15 of the accompanying booklet it tells you how to report your results to the NHS.
It is very easy to follow online or by phone. After answering a few questions it asks for your email address and mobile number and this is the reply you get back - immediately by both email and text.

My Name
Date of Birth
Your coronavirus lateral flow test result is negative. It’s likely you were not infectious when the test was done.

Keep following coronavirus advice including:

  • regular handwashing
  • social distancing
  • wearing a face covering where recommended
You only need to self-isolate if:

  • you get symptoms of coronavirus – you’ll need to book a different test at https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
  • someone you live with tests positive, or has symptoms
  • you’ve been traced as a contact of someone who tested positive
Reporting your results

It is important that you keep reporting all of your test results, whether they are positive, negative or void.

Reporting every test result:

  • helps the NHS to monitor the spread of the virus
  • helps scientists learn more about the virus
  • provides more accurate data that saves lives
  • supports people and communities across the UK
If you’re doing daily contact testing at work and are well, you can work today. If you’ve completed your daily tests, and they’ve all been negative, you can stop testing.

For medical help, contact 111. In an emergency dial 999.

See https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus for more advice

So send for the tests as above or go to a test centre.
If you do the test - takes a few minutes - then report result - www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result or ring 119 - and immediately you get a reply both by email and text that I have printed out above. And you will have it on your phone as proof.
Test Centres also text you a result that is on your phone to show as proof and they also take your details and it goes to the NHS.

So you don't need proof of a negative test? You just need proof you've reported a negative test result? I had no idea the system was so easy to bypass. You don't even need to do a test at all if you're pushed for time, just scan the barcode on the test kit and upload or dial in and report a negative result.

I was surprised to find it was just based on trust.
Thought you would at least have send off physical evidence.
Oh well , seems pretty straight forward.
Our lass has loads of spare test kits.
If I behave she might let me have one.

You can get the test kits from any chemist or supermarket with a chemist.

You get 7 in a pack and each one has a code that you register the result against online... just make sure you put down your email and phone number as they send a certificate on both email and text.

DO NOT ring the result in as this can take longer to get a confirmation email/text.

the kits are free and all instructions are inside
