Dael Fry - winger!

I was watching the full 90 on SAFC and their commentator on one of the replays says Barlaser fizzes a low one in.
NO it was Dael Fry on the wing!

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but what a fabulous bit of unexpected wing play by Fry. Totally wrong footed the defender with the turn and whipped a perfect cross in.
When I saw he had an assist I was expecting some scruffy misplaced header landing in a packed goal mouth not a low pin point cross to the front post after a deceptive turn to bamboozle the opposition.🙂

Following the success of molding Akpom into a no.10, I think we have just found out the next 'Project Carrick'

The project needs to be his day job

Did you see him when Roberts went through and nearly scored…
Just cack defending

I thought the main defensive error leading to the goal is that the Mackem didn't even consider the possibility that Fry would do that.

He went to close him down, but weirdly approached to the wrong side, leaving Fry all the space in the world to attack the byline.

More or less manages 1 goal and 1 assist per 35 appearances in season but didn't get either last year - drew a blank, having to go back to April 22 for his last assist (to Crooksy) vs Stoke in a 3-1 win . Delighted for him. Also he looked delighted and couldn't believe it himself as he was bobbing like a kid in a sweet shop in the group celeb.

I think he has previous on crossing though. Tavernier header away to Brentford I think?

Back in my Champinship Manager playing days, you'd occasionally get a youth player who had one awesome quality completely inappropriate to their position. Maybe Fry is a crossing god who just happens to play centre half?
