I liked d*ck (that's not meant to be an innuendo!) but you are right about comedy being of it's time. My favourite comedian in the '70's was Mike Harding. Billy Connelly and Jasper Carrot were up there with him at that time. They just looked at life from different angles and were very funny in how they expressed it.
I don't find today's comedians funny at all. But that is just my subjective opinion.
