Think I would be worried. Anderson won’t last 5 tests, Broad is past his best and Archer would need to step up and he will be under a lot of pressure. Australia have brought a young fast bowler over here for the T20 series and he is seriously quick. His name is Riley Meredith. Remember the name.

England batting is woeful. No doubt about it.
 
You would have Australia as clear favourites all day long at the moment. Can't really argue with the rankings currently. India clearly much better, Australia likewise and if Williamson is firing I think New Zealand beat us as well.

Saying that we play the last two here over the summer which will be a good indication of where we are.

The Black Caps beat England a year last winter. England were disappointing then too when they came over here.

The lack of batting ability and application of test match skills is woeful. I get its India and the conditions are difficult.

To he honest the last ashes were no different. We were regularly out of 200-250 and helped out by the bowling attack. We are constantly 60-4 and never see off the new ball.

That said had it not been for Steve Smith then Australia were no better batting wise. I think it will once again be down to the two sets of bowling attacks.

I just just think the art of test match batting is going. No fecker wants to stick around and grind out runs. They get bowled 6-10 dot balls then slip onto one day mode 'forgetting' they actually have slips in test cricket.

The batting has been pretty shambolic..... Almost bordering on embarrassing.
 
These batting collapses have more to do with their mental approach than technical.

Axar and Ashwin are living rent free in their heads and every delivery is like them shouting "BOO" as they line up a shot.
 
Bairstow just looks like he wants to be home. Him and Bess should be the first casualties.
 
England look mentally shot - all summer in the bubble, good chunk of winter also.

Mad fixture scheduling with 17 (I think) tests this year.

Don't get me wrong England haven't played well but there's more to it than that.
