Higgy is Boro ... would see him many a time in the west stand sitting with the punters....

I loved (love) Higgy. My all time favourite Boro player and that video above just shows why.
Treat like $hlte by Robson and yet turns it on again and again for him.
He wasn't inconsistent either. Put him in a team with quality players like Merson, Emerson, Barmby or Ravanelli and he was was class. Put him in a team of donkeys and he was moderate.......... but still better than the rest.
I have 3 memories of Higgy that will never fade:
1. 1st goal at the Riverside.
2. Penalty against Chesterfield ..... 2-1 down and Ravanelli bottled it.
. Step up Higgy ..... get in !
3. Penalty against Man U........... the whole of Man U surrounded the ref and were kicking off trying to put the penalty taker off. Higgy just flicked the ball up and did a few keep-ups. Put the ball on the spot and scored past Schmeichel. Absolutely loved it.
Love the guy and will be forever grateful for all of the memories he gave me.
