Wierd that it's totally different to powdered pepper which I really don't care for at all

It tastes the same you just get a much more intense flavour with the finely ground stuff because of the massively increased surface area

A good salt and peppercorn grinder will allow you to set the coarse of the grains.

We use Malden sea salt flakes, no idea why, Mrs H insists on it but salt is just salt NaCl right?
