Why do are many of them on social Media right of centre staunch brexiters?
That's not saying all are but it does seem the overwhelming majority are ?

There certainly is a link, a disdain for science and lack of acceptance of logic and the reality of what is laid in front of their own eyes is common in huge numbers of people.

Brexit is gone and done and these people need another cause to fill the void left by brexit and supporting trump.

There’s a link between believing on conspiracies etc that once you believe in one you are susceptible to others - so everyone that gobbles up fake news and spurious websites it’s an easy transition to anything similar, and this fits the bill.

Is it not just because they are really thick and believe anything without questioning it?
I used to think that was the case, but it seems there are several "highly educated" people I know who are right up for a good old conspiracy theory about fake news and mainstream media controlling people and the government.

"Highly educated" people can still be thick

Same with posh people, and rich people

It's taken me years to realise this

This is so true. Once you go down the Farage, Darren Grimes, Lawrence Fox rabbit hole it's hard to extricate oneself. A member of my family who is 10 years older than me and who I thought was as cool as hell in the 60's regarding music, politics etc is down there somewhere. I think I'll buy a ferret.

Very true and in fact a little knowledge can be really dangerous. People think they now things others dont. I call it being just brainy enough to be stupid :)

Funny enough the biggest ones I see on Facebook are avid lefties... Probably more blinded by the viewers own perception than the poster.

Believing conspiracy theories around covid, pizzagate, wayfair etc is no way near something like Brexit which was a political debate not something that doesn't actually exist.

What about the mad Corbyn brother, surely he isn't a staunch rightie or the people he associates with?

As stated probably more to do with the viewers own political thoughts.

They are not sheeple believing what the mainstream media want you to believe. Instead they believe what their non-mainstream media wants them to believe.

The irony is that they are the most easily manipulated section of society. Be it Qanon, or anti-vax stuff, they fall for the conspiracy every time.

Ah this fabulous topic, what constitutes a 'covid denier' and what is an 'anti-masker' and what has it to do with people who voted brexit?
For me the only people who are anti maskers and deny covid exists (the what maybe 30 people I've seen in 12 months) don't really sit in a specific demographic but I'm sure that they aren't actually who the post was actually about.

I am certain in the echo chamber (predominantly middle aged white males) that constitutes this forum the thread will turn into a virtue signalling circle jerk as demonstrated above already. Sad.

...and right on cue...

Which one?

From what I've seen there's an obvious correlation with anti-maskers, covid deniers, far-right nut jobs and "brexiteers", and then from that, a smaller cult that is also thick and/ or racist.

People deny the above, but it's usually because they're in one or a few of those categories, but don't want to be associated with them all, so they bury their heads in the sand.

A few of the smarter guys I know who vote tory and Brexit are loaded and will be fine no matter what happens, yet on the opposite end of the spectrum, there are 10 people for every one of those who is a silly idiot, that has been completely misled.

"Quick look over there officer, a man without a mask"
"Sir he's stood outside"
"He must be right wing officer, arrest him"
"I don't see why that applies Sir"
"Probably voted for Brexit too officer"
"Sir, please...."

😂
