Couple of interesting post on internet regarding Boro.

2028:
Azaz - needs to hit the gym with Engel work on his stamina and body strength

2027:
Dieng - great, he's a top keeper
Rav - keep if we can. If not that contract length will make his higher
Engel - Needs to work on his physicality over the summer. Doubt he's on big wages, but that's a long contract
Bangura - maybe see a lot more from him next year
Hackney - see Rav
Gilbert - a loan will be in the offing
Coburn - get him fit for the start of next year
Lath - a full pre-season with the team will help, as will someone to share the workload with

2026:
Glover - unlikely to get a lot of game time next year, not on big wages so not really an issue
Fry - might be time to cash in? Good player, but not the imperious player we once thought he might be. There would be decent offers if we put him up for sale.
Lenihan - I'm not sure he's guaranteed a spot with Rav's emergence. But he's technical enough to play Carrick's system, so who knows
Barlaser - not good enough
Forss - keep
Silvera - need more consistency next year
Hoppe - we need an exit route for him

2025:
Tommy Smith - weird one. because of his age and a long injury, we don't know what state he will come back in, or if he will be fit for the start of the season. Clearly there are concerns otherwise I don't think Ayling would have been brought in
Dijksteel - is getting sold, good servant, but isn't technical and tactical enough for Carricks system
Ayling - situation will be dependent on Smith situation
Clarke - good squad player, but maybe he wants to be first choice somewhere?
Coulson - baffling he's still here and still got 12 months left. Sell
Izzy Jones - Final year of contract, get him signed longer
McGree - flattered to deceive this year, largely through injury. Might be time to cash in

Out of Contract:
Jones - don't care, especially if we have a youth player able to step up to 3rd choice
Liam Roberts - meh
Paddy McNair - good servant, but big wages. Wouldn't be against keeping him, but not auto selected if we keep him
Thomas - err, How TF did he win an FA Cup
Howson - most likely to get another contract. Offer him one and sell barlaser, then buy a quality CDM
O'Brien - he's match fit now, he's ok but not worth the wages or a transfer fee
Greenwood - don't see him coming back, still a potentially good player

Id keep McGree - at this level he is superb and we wouldnt get anywhere near enough through selling him to replace him

with coulson, I've seen a few blackpool fans saying he's having a good time there and playing well. Permanent move for him to their is surely on the cards, I think he needs to find his footballing home and he seems to be very much liked there

Depends if he’s committed and signs a new contract. Needs to get fully fit to push on. Has the technical ability to be a top top layer in this league

I think that comes down to McGree and all the smoke signals are that he wants off. I guess we can hope that he has a storming end to the season and attracts a decent bid. I suspect he'll go to the European mainland as there are probably some teams playing in the Europa or Conference league who would offer £5m or so for him. Don't see a Premier league team buying him.

McGree is by far the best player at this club, and one of the only [players who has any value for other clubs.

we will be lucky yo keep hold of him.
