Could the Saudi deal see other owners leave

The Saudi fund will have the same problem Steve Gibson has. They may want to invest money in the club, but unless they can increase the clubs revenues, they'd have to gift the cash or fall foul of FFP. There's a limited amount of additional debt each year.

Has FFP really helped? Or does it just force clubs to bankrupt themselves in a different way.

Its an investment so they will only put enough money in to increase or maximise the investment.

That could mean just spending enough to comfortably stay up and use the rest of the tv money they get as profit. I dont think you get much for winning a cup - you just sell a few more shirts.

How much do you get for qualifying for the champions league? And how much would you have to spend to get into it?

We all know in business if you can’t be too dog then you normally do something else and as we have seen in formula one engine manufacturers are leaving or not coming as they can’t compete with Mercedes.

so could the hyper money the Saudis have lead to the likes of FSG Roman abramovich or even the Abu Dhabi’s to reconsider their investments as there is simply no way that they can compete so would they still put all that money to finish second or even 6th.
Love how even Newcastle being funded by terorrist sponsors is also Mercedes fault.

for the record one, singular, engine manufacturer has left. The one that has form and has “pulled out” of formula one on more than one occasion in the past.

To get to where they are now to being a top 4 club I reckon they'd need to spend about £1 Billion.

Yeah I thought that, Coutinho and James Rodriguez types, players in that bracket seem like exactly the type they could attract. Very highly paid but a step down from the A grade clubs.

The thing is… Unbelievably talented though they are, there’s a reason why Real Madrids and Barcelonas are getting rid of them.
That's the best they could hope for at this moment in time. I think Liverpool have said they would have to consider offers of £75m for Mo Salah,.

Do it in public and call it a fine then it’s all ok
Initially they were banned from UEFA competitions for two years as well as significant fines. That decision was overturned at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne because the penalties were for the 2012-2016 seasons, and most of the offences were over 5 years earlier and therefore not eligible for penalties. They ended up with only a 10 million fine.

You have to wonder if the timing of the decisions was done to ensure City could win on appeal.

City do a nice job publishing their annual reports. On the earlier topic of revenues, they report 246 million in "commercial" revenues - not matchday or broadcasting. That's a lot of shirt sales.

Man City also have the 'City Group' in which they can put a fair amount of debt onto their other clubs and therefore skip around rules to. They also have a very profitable academy now, which means they make a fair amount in loan fees and eventual transfer fees (chelsea do exactly the same).

If we are in the shadows of newcastle and sinderland in furure if they meet there potential through huge backing of billionaires than can see it being a massive fight against the tide for gibbo. We would be like tranmere yo everton and liverpool unfortunately.

What is the difference between a £100m player and an £800k player or a £3.3m player..

The £100m player has performed exceptionally consistently and will be available only to small number of clubs financed by multi billionaires.

Our position hasn’t changed and just as Newcastle’s fortunes may be about to change for the better.. so will another clubs reign be be over.

Just pointing out his obsession with hating Mercedes and Lewis has reached such silly levels that he sees fit to, apropros of nothing, bring it in to a football thread.

I’m highlighting how when you have one huge whale in the tank then the reality is ii does put others competitors off from
Getting involved.

I’m amazed you don’t think Mercedes ( no one mentioned Lewis but you btw) overall dominance has led to others not entering the sport.

and with huge Arab money that no one can come close too matching will this have a similar off putting aspect to it in the premier.

I think you're just stuck with this in your head now. It's crazy but hey ots your own obsession. I just find it sad when it colours your responses so much
