Could Man Utd get relegated?

Mathematically it's possible but they probably only need a couple of wins to be safe

I think the bottom 3 or 4 will be bad enough to make sure Utd don't go down
I remember a lot of people being very happy when they were relegated in the 70s despite being the country's most famous club.

Their saving grace will be there are three worse teams..... probably the three promoted teams.

What a shambles the whole club is top to bottom.....lovely
That's the thing, the likes of Everton have flirted with relegation for a while but the promoted teams tend to save them.

Rashford, Mount, De Ligt and Maguire are apparently their top four earners on approx £50m per year between them.

Absolutely astonishing. They are lumbered with so many of their players with their outrageous wage structure. Those four players could go on holiday for a year and would it really affect the final league position?

Over the last decade they must have the largest disparity between wages spent and success resulting from it. At least when City decided to buy the league they remembered to pick up the trophy a few years in a row.

In the days of needing 40 points to stay up, they would be in huge trouble. Sadly the promoted teams are miles off the rest of the league due to the gulf in finances between the leagues so they are safe

What's the magic figure to avoid relegation these days?

They’ve made some horrendous signings. Multiple players for £50m+ that just haven’t succeeded.

Whilst also selling half decent players that came through the ranks for much less.

The likes of Henderson, McTominay, Angel Gomes and Elanga, whilst not being world class (although Elanga looking very good at present) all sold for considerably less than the likes of Anthony, Mount, Casemiro and Onana were purchased for.

Probs a net spend of close to £200m & significantly increased wages just on the 4 sold and 4 bought mentioned above and I think the 4 they produced themselves are likely better.

Even if you consider the 4 brought in as being superior, they’re not close to £200m superior.

Mason Mount. Forgot he was a thing. Shame really, it's been a slaughterhouse for talent the last few years.

You could probably put together a pretty decent 11 just from the players currently loaned out to get away from the place.

Well, Everton were the team that might get relegated but theyve just beaten manure and are above them.
There are 3 very poor teams that got promoted that will save them.

EDIT: Seems I was a bit premature - the jammy tw.ats drew 2-2
