Coronavirus good news thread

I’ve liked that, but I really hope they are massively under-promising and will hugely over-deliver 🤞🏻
I believe (maybe naively) that they will be late to the vaccine party if it takes them that long, although I realise it ties in with the general prediction of 18-24 months
That really really isn’t a long time. That’s lightening quick

I appreciate that. I know that records need to be broken on this one and I like to believe they will. Necessity is the mother of invention, I really believe that.
Some organisations, whether correct or not, believe they ‘could’ have things ready to go much earlier than back end of next year, and I hope (maybe naively) they are right.

Granted, swine flu was a different beast and I’m not sure how accurate this is, but they rattled a vaccine out in much less than 18 months 🤞

More than half a million worldwide have now officially recovered. Remember, that is from those who have been officially tested, which in many countries are the people who have had it bad enough to go to hospital. So it would appear huge numbers of people being hospitalised with this are recovering 👍

I would hope now that our country is flattening the curve that the media now will start to focus more on the recovery figures now.
I know it's wishful thinking but we can hope.

New ventilator gets approval, and is producing hundreds this week, aiming for 1500 productions per week in May 👍

I see thst USA are reciprocating the help Russia gave them by sending ventilators as Russia's needs increase.

Good to see that Africa soon to get a million tests but will need 15 million over the next three months.

There seems to be less about the antibody tests each day.
I'm a retired Nurse who has gone back to work. I am worried (understatement) but just crack on each shift. I'm convinced I had the symptoms at the end of January .It would be great to know if I had some resistance to the virus and it would make it a lot easier going into work.

I hear that BLF, hope it's not destroying your mental health and let us all know if you hear some positives anti body test news. 🤞

Drug trials on 5000 patients to get underway. Early results expected by June.
World's biggest drug trials

One thing is for sure, with so many trials going on, IF any of these drugs do have a degree of success, fingers crossed, it will be known about sooner rather than later.

Also, sometimes I think we as a country punch well above our weight and it’s flippin impressive! Our small islands are running the largest trials of this kind in the world 👍
