Copenhagen

Was there last July - not sure if that was pre or post renovation, but felt worth visiting to me.
Yes I was there last year and defo worth visiting but cleaned up significantly since the hedonistic and gang warfare days of the 70s and 80s Lots of workshops and cafes dotted around the site. Reminded me of Glastonbury. green fields.

Assume you're not just getting the train from CPH central station to Malmo if it's costing that much ? I used to work in Malmo and go across the bridge weekly from the airport, and it cost nowhere near that just on the train.
I've just always wanted to drive over it. But id probably see more from the train tbf!

Yeah that sounds like a good plan
Could visit Kronborg castle too

Can definitely recommend Helsigborg too.

We went by train and it was really easy to get around.

Also - last time we stayed in Malmo, around half the price of Copenhagen and trains to the centre every 20 mins or so run day and night.

It’s great going over the bridge on the train too.

Correct. No way should it cost £100. £10 maybe

Another vote for Christiana. They have a an old punk club upstairs in one of the buildings. We saw a place to bury strangers there, intense 😄

I just want to thank everyone, for their recommendations. We had a fantastic time
Det Lille Apotek was great, literally just around the block from our apartment. Nice vibe. Lovely meal, but the meatloaf killed me! Couldn't finish it
Aamans 1921, for open sandwiches (Smorrebrods), was 1 min away too. That was a little pricy, but a great experience

My Bridge experience was brill (got really lucky with our car upgrade too), and yep ended up in Helsingborg via Malmo, which was interesting. Both are industrial but have some really cool old town bits. Messed the ferry up, so came back via the Bridge. Got a discount with my car hire people, but still was £80, return over the Bridge.

Nyhaven at dusk, with hardly any tourists, was incredibly beautiful.
Freetown Cristiana was very quiet. Although as we headed back in to town, we came across a Pro Palestine march, and I'm guessing many were on that.

A bit I learnt:
Dont get cabs or Uber. The public transport is spot on and cheap, and once in the centre nearly everything is walkable.
(Uber were gonna charge around £50 from airport to town, subway was around £9 for three of us)
Don't buy tourist tat. We didn't think Copenhagen was that expensive all in all (beer, food etc), but the tat shops are mentally expensive. Go to Cristiana and get your memento's cheap!

And yes the walk to the little Mermaid is long, but it is worth it. A lovely walk through Churchill Park, through the barracks and the old fortifications.
Tivoli is shut til April

Ta all
