I’m watching Dagenham v Salford on ITV4 and Ripley Jr is having a decent game so far for Salford.
I had no idea that’s where currently he was.

44mins gone and Salford 1-0 up.

Rippers Jr was a good understudy to Steele in the Mowbray years. Wish him every success in the game as a local lad and the son of a genuine Boro legend. League 2 is about his level but he has looked good value.

Steele definitely had a season or two where he was genuinely decent for us, when Strachan brought him into the first team and after Mowbray couldn't sign Ikeme permanently. By the time Aitor came in, confidence was shot and he just wasn't the keeper we had expected him to turn into. Ripley did his job at a no. 2, obviously wasn't ever going to be a Championship player but was a trier and loved the club, which is about as much as you can ask for from someone at a club of the stature we were then. Fond memories of that time period following the Boro - Rhys Williams, Barry Robson, Nicky Bailey et al.

Edit: Thankfully they were stretched off and out of the ground, so nothing too serious.

He certainly wasn’t as bad as he went on to be for Sunderland!
 
who got sent off at leeds then given was signed on loan and that was that with their boro career?
