Congratulations Wrexham. Back After 15 Years

Any club in that tier would probably be thankful for the attention. There are times when you'd think nothing exists below the Premier League, so imagine the national media wilderness of being in the fifth tier.

They won't be the first to tumble and rise again though: look where Luton are now. Although hopefully they have to wait a year so we can climb the ladder first.

You can be happy for Wrexham fans but be bored of the media’s love in for them 👍🏻

I’m not sure how that makes anyone jealous or bitter.

Exactly that’s how I am, I think at times the disparity is a little distasteful. In the football league it will be a lot more even but at that level to have TikTok is taking the mick a little.

I was a bit cynical about them taking over, thinking they were going to be taking the mick out of the town and the club, but they seem to have done things the right way, respected people who were already working at the club and have had a laugh along the way. It's the dream isn't it?

Whoever the owners are, its good to see Wrexham back in the top 4 divisions, and hopefully Notts County come up too.

It's a win-win.

The Hollywood owners seem genuine. They have put people who for years volunteered to work at the club for free on the payroll.

In return they get to be part of something that is about more than just money. They also get a big shirt sponsor and a TV show to help fund the club.

The fans get success and the people of a working class town get to have a smile on their faces.

The problems will come when they get to stagnate. Will that be when they get to League One or the Championship?
Fans will then want even bigger owners and no one will want to watch a TV show about a team that finishes mid table.

That’s a good point but as we all know we want Boro to be promoted to the Premier League because the money will help rebuild our future in whatever league we are in.

This project was always going to be finite - how long who knows but what it has done is build the club’s profile, funds and worldwide supporter base.

That can only be positive for their future.

Those who seem churlish over Wrexham’s achievement are holding some kind of latent jealousy in my opinion. They will deny it of course but they are kidding themselves.
First of all, I would like to say congratulations to Wrexham FC on their achievement of reaching the football league after 15 years of being away and wish them well for the future. They always say cream rises to the top and it seems that it did once again here with Wrexham's points tally certainly backing that up.

I never wanted Wrexham to gain promotion over Notts County and wanted the English team over the Welsh team and would do no matter which English or Welsh teams are involved. The last time I made that statement on here I was accused of being racist. I am not trying to be racist or a little Englander and it certainly isn’t jealousy. I will be cheering Man City on in the Champions League against Real Madrid and would always want the English team to do well. I am sure that doesn't make me a racist but I will apologise in advance to anyone who takes offense to it.

Regarding the Wrexham owners, I don’t think anyone in their right mind can deny the brilliant work Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElheney are doing for the wider Wrexham community but it isn't only Wrexham they helping. Look at what they did for the young lad Leland from Blyth Spartans who needed a bone marrow donor. Even at the weekend, as Jedi mentions, Reynolds took time out to grant the dying wish of a Wrexham fan and gave him a glove from the Deadpool movie and for all this, Wrexham FC deserves to be all over the TV and in the newspapers. Even the most cynical can't deny them that.

Well done Wrexham and good luck for next season.

Good post. You are certainly not being churlish over Wrexham’s achievement. My comments were not necessarily aimed at comments on this Board. There have been some extremely boreish comments on social media though.

They don't get it. You're supposed to be extremely bitter about your main league rivals and drum up all sorts of reasons for it.

The media love in is a bit OTT but agree Reynolds and his mate off that sitcom (whose name I can't be bothered try and spell) seem genuine and are setting a great example of how to approach the sport (for fans and other owners).

Yes they've given Wrexham an unfair advantage, but has anyone been paying attention to the rest of football recently? There are far far worse owners out there. These two seem genuinely in it for sporting reasons and have really bonded with the club and the town.

Good luck to them.

It deserves to be OTT for the reasons I mentioned in my post and also for the reasons you allude to in yours.
