Fed-up residents and damning CCTV footage helped secure Middlesbrough's latest victory in the war on fly-tippers.
The culprit was caught red-handed dumping furniture and other household waste, and was hit with a £400 fine.
Middlesbrough Mayor Andy Preston today praised the community for coming forward, and pledged to keep up the fight.
The brazen fly-tipping took place in broad daylight at St Cuthbert's Court in Ormesby on Saturday, June 5.
After dumping items of furniture including a settee and armchair, the culprit left the scene in a Ford Transit van.
However Middlesbrough Council's Environmental Flying Squad were able to identify him using CCTV images and support from the community.
He was subsequently interviewed under caution and served with a £400 Fixed Penalty Notice which has been paid this week.

"Fly-tipping is a needless blight on law-abiding neighbourhoods that costs a small fortune to clear up.
"People have had enough, and they're working with us to identify the culprits and put a stop to this anti-social menace."
