Seems to have finally died a death.
A pity really as the handful of cranks it housed may now turn their efforts to other outlets…

I don't think we should assume that all new users on here are bad, or trolls - which seems to be the new default position for some.
Come on Boro was a strange place. I went there a couple of times but didn't have a clue what they were talking about. Not much actual Boro talk that I could see.
Is the racist board the one that Erimus74 is now apparently a member of - Red Roar? This was mentioned before and I still can't get that to add up.
Do you have access to it Smalltown, is Erimus on there and in what way is it racist?
Also, who made them go private due to racism? That seems like a very odd punishment, almost condoning racism as long as it is between members only.

I assume they made the board private themselves because of the racist comments on there. Much harder to investigate if you have a private board. It is just a rumour but if you ever read it before it want private it’s a rumour not without substance. It made come on Boro look like a woke lefty paradise!

And I agree not every new user is a suspect but there have been so many lately that seem to know an awful lot about current posters or speak a certain, recognisable way
 
I used to frequent COB back in the day after BBC606 (i think this is what it was called), probably around 2005/6 and it was good place, lots of posters, regular articles. Think i left in around 2009/10 ish and never really looked at it beyond that point.
 
TBH I looked at Red Roar once or twice and it seemed to just be about 6 blokes having a go at each other. They do tend to use far less 'woke' language, don't care about offending each other, and I probably did see a bit of racism (or certainly comments I would never make) but I don't think its existence was borne out of white supremacy or anything.

Come On Boro was very different to this board and pretty similar to Red Roar when it was at its peak (with bigger numbers) but I imagine most posters from there post on here now and just curb their language a bit.
 
There was a point when it was alright.. there were a few questionable posts and a few that we near to the knuckle.. but overall it was alright. Goldsborough the lad that owned it/ran it at one point was sound.

Then it seemed to turn to the darkside and become the playground of one or two trolls.. truth be told it’s been dead for AGES!

That is a big assumption to be fair. They might have got their house in order and now strictly vet new users to prevent trolling on there.
Or to stop it going back to the way you describe it used to be.
If it was a bad as is made out to be I doubt it would exist for long in any format - private or otherwise.
 
COB was basically an outdated version of your typical Ya Dad's Whatsapp group chat.

Old men posting images of young lasses with their boob out, pre-2010 memes about immigrants and the odd sprinkling of football chat.

Yeah, I was the same. Loved the off the wall nature of the 606 guys. Carol singing on other teams boards was brilliant! Sadly cob lost its way a bit

Making it private wouldn’t stop it going back. The moderaron could do that. Theres clearly content that the posters don’t want in the public domain and it was definitely going down a bigoted route when visible
