My last day of my middle eastern odyssey today so sadly won’t be able to watch the match but I’ll be watching it when I get back.

By the way Qatar was great what a city here’s one of the new World Cup stadiums

And they have this in the centre with all the flags of the qualified countries with those yet to qualify left blank.

As you can see thanks to sir Gareth the cross of St George is flying proudly among them. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Good stuff. You are doing some travelling - both UAE and Qatar I see. The ticket ballot entry is now open for the WC. I won’t be going unless miracles the All Whites qualify.

Lots of people online have been complaining that there are no hotel rooms available yet. i suspect FIFA have them all tied up in packages at the moment.

Our guide mentioned this the plan is to use cruise ships as temp mobile hotels and even to build a tent city staging post in the desert. Huge construction going on at the the port and all over to prepare.


Because as you say they Qataris admit at present they don’t have the hotel Space to fulfil the needs of the numbers expected.


Btw that stadium in the pic has the very imaginative title of stadium 974, it’s newly built and it will be completely removed and shipped to Africa after the World Cup.
