Cold (updated: and wet) golf in Spain - 10 January 2021

We were due to tee off in a shotgun start at 09:00 this morning. For an official golf competition. The start was put back 30 minutes as at 08:30 it was pouring with rain.

This was the sight that greeted me when I walked through the gate on to the golf course at 09:10. That is the 10th fairway in the foreground. With the driving range behind it.

Looks lovely. However it was effing cold this morning.

Non stop rain and high winds here since Wednesday - Friday was particularly "impressive". A couple were killed in Mijas, trying to cross a swollen river in their car, despite the fact that the road was closed and barriers in place. Weather has settled down today though

Played to my handicap today (now up at 9.4 sloped at 95% to 12 playing on our main course). No blobs. 36 points and 5th in the first category. So just sneaked in to the prizes.

The bad weather has continued here today. So much so that our course is closed for the first time in years. As the rainwater has not drained off it after further rainfall last night and this morning.

Correct. So bad that some of my Amazon deliveries have been delayed because of the bad weather. Heartbreaking.

Also the Almería away match at Leganés on Sunday was cancelled due to the weather. Very unusual.
