coburn

Josh was beating himself up for that 1 on 1 he missed against stoke, It’s great that he stuck one away yesterday!

I felt the Plymouth defenders were glad to see the back of him yesterday. He gave them a torrid time throughout the game and should have received more protection from the referee. His hold up play with his back to the goal is very good and is able to bring others into the game. I don't think we get that from Latte Lath.
I don't disagree with any of that Norman. However I would say that yesterday was probably the lads best game for us.

At times things are not upto his usual standard but that's expected from a young striker, for coburn he never let's his head go down which is really important for a young player and works tirelessly and defenders look knacked when they have played against him.

What I would say is the team needs to be smarter around him, he makes good runs and plays good balls into the channels which players either don't anticipate or hold onto for to long, at times we are very casual in our play instead of being ruthless.

The same goes for barlaser and Rogers they both constantly look to thread balls through and plays go to run then stop and it makes what I'd a good ball seem poor, when the likes of Mcgree and Forss are back they will improve our attacking threat even more.

Josh is going to be a handful of a striker in this league for years to come.

He did yesterday what I don’t think he’s been doing enough of recently and that’s getting on the end of something in the six yard box.

He’s usually either too late or doesn’t even attempt to make the run.

I agree with the posters who have mentioned about how he has changed the way we play, losing 1 in 11 since he came into the team. He has provided the hold up play that we lost when Chuba left. Before the Southampton game nothing was sticking up front.

Maybe a quick visit to the argyle forum “PASOTI” might give some perspective on what other teams fans think of him .
Plymouth fans all seem to think he is great , they’re raving about him and lamenting that they didn’t get him on loan from us - even saying that he is respectful for not giving big celebrations when scoring. Just so very complimentary of him. If you go on there . Check out the “Middlesbrough brief synopsis thread”. They seem to like us as a club

He’s had a couple of poor performances but played a lot better against Plymouth. Still think he has a lot to improve to be at the level we need, still young though so can’t be too harsh, he’s learning on the job

JC had a great game on Saturday. Unless he was injured I wouldn't have subbed him. Their centre backs couldn't handle him and we lost his height in our box when he went off. Plymouth finished the stronger as a result.

So you want your target man coburn as number 10 and your second striker lathe as a target man🙄

Well yeah, you generally have the quicker striker playing on the shoulder, and the stronger “target man” dropping deeper to hold the ball up and link play
