Ciaran Brown CH bid in

Read what I have been positing about our prospects and how I am looking forward to the season, couldnt be further from being negative.
McNair is not a PL centre back and I am far from alone in thinking that.
I think McNair is great at stepping into midfield (not that surprising given that's his best position), but he lacks a bit of height, especially for the championship and his ability to step out makes up for his weaknesses as a centre half.

I'd have him on midfield, or one of 3 centre halves, but not in a back 4.

Cardiff aren't going to let Brown go on the cheap they rate him & if we want him we will have to pay a fair wedge for him
They won’t have a choice as his contract expires in January so he will leave for nothing if they insist on a big fee for a player with so little time left

How much can anyone expect for a players who's contract is up in Jan? I mean it can only be very low hundreds of thousands? 100-200k max.

Although Jan is a strange time to run out. I mean is that actually correct and not the summer?

According to that his contract does indeed end in January, so can negotiate a free transfer with new suitors in the last six months still?

The same as if he was leaving at a normal end of contract in June?

So maybe we already have him signed and he's joining us in January?

Or him and his agent are using us to get a better payday out of Cardiff and he's signing a new deal with them?

Agree, in that back 3 he's pretty good, he can come out with the ball, but also if teh opposition switch things around and drop one of their strikers into the hole, he can follow and offer the screen to what would be a back 4. That allows our usual CDM Morsy to pressure higher up. It's a great option to have when we start with a back 3, allows us to react to tactical changes on the fly.

Completely agree, plus he can step into midfield and give us an advantage there too, it's sometimes harder to pick up McNair when he plays out from the back 3.
