The Chiliz token (CHZ) is the exclusive currency used on the Socios.com platform. It is used by fans to buy branded 'Fan Tokens' from internationally recognized sports teams and organizations. These include football teams such as FC Barcelona, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and AC Milan.

They are starting to push into USA aswell

I for one would like more fan engagement from the club, and the opportunity to vote club matters (next seasons kit for example).

I don’t think it will be long before one of the big Prem teams are onboard.

The premise is about fan participation.

You mention football index, that’s just a stock market for players and yes I agree that is just gambling..

Chz offers participation in your club and real world decisions on that club!

the fan tokens of each club give you the right to vote!

The clubs mentioned in my original message are on board with this!!

No if the greedy teams you have listed above are part of those involved.

Thank you for your well constructed argument!

Football index has nothing to do with any of those clubs!

The greed of individual clubs has nothing to do with fan engagement and whether a better team like boro would want more fan engagement!!

Realistically fans will never own enough tokens to have meaningful votes surely and if they did; no guarantees on which way they will vote?

it’s not all vote, for example they wouldn’t allow you to pick the next manager!

that’s why I gave the shirt example. They could have a choice and people vote.

So, how much would it cost fans? Is this a heavy price to pay to part of a decision making process?
Would it not be better to have a stake in the club from shares?

Yes and through this message board we also have a direct route to interact and influence decision makers at the club.
Supporters Direct now part of FSA - have long had a policy of buying shares at clubs to be part of decision making and more to the point trying to prevent their clubs from being bought be dodgy owners - that seems far more meaningful than helping select a new strip.

Thought you said they were all onboard. I repeat if they are involved the fans will end up paying for these "Fans Tokens". None of those clubs or any of the big clubs in PL are going to let fans play any part of a significant decision making process. Oh the might throw you a fish to vote for the new training ground or let you help pick next season third strip but that's about it.

I pay a lot of money for my season ticket and have done since pre Riverside days and that is quite sufficient for me. Add to that going to most away games I would say most of my expenditure goes on following Boro.

One question do you have any involvement with scheme or companies running it. Not a problem if you have but I was just wondering. (y)

I was going to buy some of the AC Milan tokens just for a laugh but didnt bother. I was a bit sick when they launched on Binance and made over 100% gains

I've heard a lot about CHZ but not actually read about the proposal that much. Alex Dreyfuss is one of the main guys behind this and is a bit of a seriel entrepreneur who likes to try new things. He's done a lot in the poker world that has tried to be innovative with mixed results - certainly nothing to write home about.

The benefits or otherwise of the project (which I can't comment on) - you're unlikely to get much positive feedback for these new kinds of tech on here. Dermographic is way off on the whole.

You might be right about demograph. Certainly West Ham dallied with them as their demograph (East end market men) would have been more suitable. But even they said no thanks in the end after fan negative reaction. .

It was debated as a late emergency resolution ar FSA AGM in London in 2019 by West Ham fans. They were really concerned that whatever the entrepreneurship going on the bottom line fans are being asked to pay for a level of representation with the club.
You might be investing in Barcelona or Milan to make money from Britain but would you be happy if at Boro certain fans got more privileges through paying into a scheme. Maybe not even Boro fans.
